It feels longer than ten days since I last uploaded, a lot has happened and the sewing and cutting rooms have been as busy as ever! Orders have begun coming in again from some of our regular customers after a recent quiet spell due to COVID-19. Things have been strange – greeting customers at the door and asking everyone who enters the building to wash their hands and wear face masks, not to mention the copious amounts of hand sanitiser that has been used!

As I mentioned in my previous post (if you haven’t read it yet you can read it here) director of Needles and Pins, Carole, has recently formed a second company, All Sewn Up Ltd in which Tim is director of. All Sewn Up has been producing handmade machine washable facemasks for the public as well as completing larger orders for other companies. Production has been almost non-stop and today we have begun making our next product available through All Sewn Up: medical style scrubs in a variety of colours. We can’t wait to share these with you very soon!

With the development of All Sewn Up, we have of course been hiring new staff who we look forward to introducing you to in our next blog post. This week we have held trial shifts for applicants (don’t worry – we ensured everyone washed their hands!) and we’ve welcomed Abby who completed her first week as PR and marketing trainee for both Needles and Pins and All Sewn Up. She attended an online course on running an online shop for All Sewn Up, which will be launching soon.

So, all in all, it is an exciting time for us (made even more exciting by deliveries of new funky fabrics!) and things finally seem to be a little more positive during these tough times.

If you are interested in purchasing either the face masks or would like more information on our scrubs, please do not hesitate to contact us on: 01458 272057
